HOW THE SITE WORKS

Privacy Policy

This policy describes the Crosspic website at https://crosspic.com. For privacy questions, email [email protected].

Images, patterns, and local processing

During ordinary editor use, imported images are opened and converted into patterns in your browser. Color conversion, stitch editing, and PDF, PNG, and editable project exports run locally. The editor does not upload source images or pattern contents to a Crosspic server, and projects are not automatically stored in a Crosspic cloud account. No account is required.

You decide whether to share files after downloading them. An editable .crosspic backup can include the project’s source image.

Browser storage and clearing your data

Crosspic saves complete editable project records, including pattern content and any source image retained in a project, in this browser’s IndexedDB. It uses localStorage to remember completion of the editor tutorial, including a legacy tutorial flag for returning users. Editor view state and undo history are held in memory during a session.

You can delete projects from the pattern library or clear this site’s browser data. Clearing Crosspic site data may also delete locally saved projects and tutorial preferences. Export important .crosspic backups before clearing data or changing devices.

Website delivery

Normal requests to the website can expose technical information such as IP address, requested URL, browser and device information, and request headers to hosting, network, and security infrastructure. Such information may be processed to deliver the site, keep it reliable and secure, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.

Cloudflare

Crosspic uses Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare infrastructure for hosting, website delivery, DNS and network services, security, performance, and reliability. Because Cloudflare handles web requests, it may process technical request information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request headers. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

Crosspic also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics / Real User Monitoring. Its beacon may be added by Cloudflare to the delivered page. It measures page usage and loading performance, including Core Web Vitals and related technical measurements. Cloudflare says this analytics service does not use cookies or localStorage for its usage measurements. It is separate from Google Analytics and Google advertising.

Google Analytics

Crosspic initializes analytics storage as granted worldwide. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization default to denied in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and United States, and granted elsewhere. These defaults may change based on your privacy choices through available Google consent messages. Google Privacy & messaging manages available consent updates, including analytics storage through its configured analytics consent setting. Consent Mode can send cookieless measurement signals while storage consent is denied. An unavailable message does not change the configured consent defaults.

Crosspic uses Google Analytics 4 to understand website usage and performance. Analytics may process visited pages, referrals, navigation, browser and device details, and technical interactions. Where applicable, it may use first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. Crosspic does not configure Analytics to receive imported images, stitch-pattern contents, or locally saved project files.

Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy, Google’s explanation of information from sites using Google services, and Analytics cookie documentation.

Google AdSense and advertising

Crosspic uses the Google AdSense site integration in connection with advertising. Google and participating third-party advertising providers may place and read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to collect information as a result of ad serving on this website. Where applicable, these technologies are used to display and measure ads, limit repeated ads, support security and fraud prevention, and personalize ads where permitted. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on location, applicable requirements, privacy choices, and Google configuration. You can review Google Ads Settings.

Google’s privacy messaging

Crosspic uses Google’s official Privacy & messaging tools through AdSense. Eligible visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland may see a European regulations message to accept, decline, or manage consent using the choices available in that message. The exact wording and available controls depend on the message Google delivers. Eligible US visitors may see Google-provided controls about sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, possibly worded “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” Google configures and delivers these messages.

US state privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, residents of certain US states may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, or to opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising. The available rights and controls depend on the law and circumstances. Contact us for a request.

Cookie and privacy choices

To change or withdraw a Google consent choice, return to the homepage and use “Privacy and cookie settings” in the footer when Google makes it available. Applicable US opt-out controls are supplied by Google. This Privacy Policy page does not load the AdSense integration or Google Analytics.

Crosspic application storage

IndexedDB holds browser-local projects; localStorage holds tutorial completion flags. These are Crosspic application storage, not advertising cookies. You can clear site data in your browser, but export project backups first because clearing it can remove projects.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics is distinct from Google Analytics. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies or localStorage to collect usage metrics. Its beacon may still appear on this page as part of Cloudflare’s website delivery.

Google analytics and advertising technologies

The AdSense site integration is present on ordinary pages; GA4 is enabled. Depending on the service, location, applicable requirements, your choices, and Google configuration, Google technologies may use cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies. Use the choices provided by Google’s official messages where available. You can also manage browser storage through your browser and visit Google Ads Settings.

Privacy requests

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, potentially including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and applicable US-state opt-out rights. Email [email protected]. Crosspic cannot retrieve browser-local project data that it has never received.

Where applicable, you also have the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country. Use the privacy controls described above to change a Google consent choice, or contact us with questions about your rights.

Messages you send us

If you email [email protected], Crosspic may receive your email address, message, and attachments you intentionally include. We may use them to respond, investigate issues, provide support, and maintain relevant correspondence. Do not send source images or project files unless you intend to share them.

Policy updates

This policy may change as Crosspic and its services change. The last updated date above identifies the current version.
