What makes a good starting picture?
A clear subject with a simple background is easier to convert. Crop tightly, then zoom into the preview to check eyes, lettering, and thin lines. A higher stitch count can retain more detail, but creates more stitching work.
Are my pictures uploaded to a server?
The pattern maker processes images on your device. Your source image and pattern stay in this browser during ordinary tool use. Website analytics and advertising are separate services described in the privacy policy.
Will a pattern use exactly the color limit I choose?
The maximum color setting is a ceiling. Several image colors can match the same DMC reference thread, so the final palette can be smaller. Screen colors are approximations; check actual floss before buying.
How do I keep or move my project?
Download an editable .crosspic backup, then import it in My saved patterns on another browser or device. A PDF or PNG preserves the chart or picture, but cannot replace an editable backup. Clearing browser data can delete local projects.
