Pattern details and finished size
| Detail | PDF specification |
|---|---|
| Chart size | 100 x 75 stitches |
| Total stitches | 7,500 full cross stitches, including the background |
| Palette | 17 colors with DMC numbers and symbols |
| Backstitch | None |
| Suggested fabric | 14-count Aida |
| Thread setting | 2 strands |
| Finished design | About 7.1 x 5.4 inches / 18.1 x 13.6 cm |
| Suggested fabric cut | About 13.1 x 11.4 inches / 33.4 x 28.8 cm |
The suggested fabric cut includes 3 inches / 7.6 cm of extra fabric on each side. This is a full-coverage rectangle: the pale background is part of the chart. If you choose to leave it unstitched, that changes the supplied design and thread requirements. Check the chart carefully because light shades also form the bunny's face and ears.
For another fabric count, divide the stitch dimensions by the number of squares per inch. On 16-count Aida, the stitched area would be 6.25 x 4.69 inches before adding a border. Our Aida fabric count guide explains how fabric count affects size.
From autumn bunny artwork to stitches

The original illustration uses dark outlines, broad areas of color and a simple background. In the chart, the leaf's pointed edges, pink cheeks and blue overalls become individual squares. These features make this a useful example of turning an image into a cross stitch pattern.
To make a separate design from your own artwork or pet photo, upload your picture to Crosspic. Crop around the subject, adjust the chart size and palette, then inspect small details such as eyes and leaf edges in the preview. A simpler background can help keep attention on your subject. Read our photo preparation guide for more ways to prepare your own image.
How to use the printable chart
The PDF contains a cover, a clean stitch preview, a project guide, two chart sections and a final floss-and-symbol key.
| Chart section | Columns | Rows |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1-59 | 1-75 |
| 2 | 57-100 | 1-75 |
The chart pages repeat columns 57-59 as a three-stitch overlap. Stitch the repeated area only once. Match the column and row numbers as you move from the left section to the right section. Bold lines mark ten-stitch blocks, and center arrows identify the midpoints.
Print one chart page first to check that its symbols are readable. Keep the key nearby and mark completed areas as you go. See how to read a cross stitch chart and our pattern printing guide if you need help getting started.
Floss and project planning
Organize your threads using the PDF's 17-color key. The palette includes Blanc for the light areas, 739 for much of the bunny, 805 for blue clothing, and orange and yellow shades for the leaf and shirt. Use the printed DMC numbers to select thread and compare them against physical floss or a thread card; screen colors are only a guide.
The PDF's floss estimates include 15% extra. Actual use varies with stitching habits and how thread is carried. With 7,500 full stitches and no backstitch, this is a project to work on over multiple sessions. The eye, mouth and leaf outline need careful counting even though the design uses only full crosses.
